On November 29th, the 2023 Textile Circular Economy Summit Forum, with the theme of "Embarking on a New Journey and Insight into a New Future," was held in Shanghai. At the meeting, relevant leaders and guests from national ministries, China Textile Federation, NGO organizations, industry experts and scholars, scientific research institutions, brand enterprise representatives, etc., gathered together to analyze circular economy policies, share innovative practical experiences, explore new models of green, circular, and low-carbon transformation in the textile industry, and provide new ideas and directions for the sustainable development of the industry.
 This conference is guided by the China National Textile and Apparel Council and hosted by the Environmental Protection and Resource Conservation Promotion Committee of the China National Textile and Apparel Council and the Alan MacArthur Foundation (UK) Beijing Representative Office. Vice Director of the Industry Department of the China National Textile and Apparel Council; Cheng Yi, presided over the event.
Duan Xiaoping, Vice President of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, pointed out in his speech that to actively explore development paths and accelerate the construction of a modern textile industry system, the China Textile Federation has issued the Action Plan for Building a Modern Textile Industry System (2022-2035), which provides a Chinese plan for building a modern textile industry system.
Jos Blariott, Executive Director and Head of International Institutions and Government Affairs of the Alan MacArthur Foundation (UK) expressed gratitude for their friendly cooperation with the China Textile Federation over the years in his video speech.
At the meeting, people from various industries gave keynote speeches.
  This forum is another important event for the continuous cooperation between the China Textile Federation's Environmental and Resources Commission and the Alan MacArthur Foundation (UK) in promoting a circular economy. Sharing successful cases and experiences will undoubtedly provide useful references for more people and provide reference and opportunities for developing a textile circular economy in other countries and regions through China's innovative practices. I believe that with the active participation and continuous promotion of all parties, taking this conference as an opportunity, we will further strengthen cooperation and communication between the government, associations, relevant institutions, upstream and downstream enterprises and brands in the industry chain, gather more consensus, continuously promote green and sustainable development in the industry, respond to global challenges, and create a better future together.
