On November 16-18, as part of the 2023 China (Funing) Environmental Protection New Materials Conference, the 8th China (Funing) Environmental Protection New Materials Innovation Forum, and the 3rd National Textile Industry "Funing Cup" Vocational Skills Competition were held in Funing. The conference is guided by the China National Textile and Apparel Council and the China Finance and Trade Light Textile Tobacco Union and hosted by the China Industrial Textile Industry Association, the Communist Party of China Funing County Committee, the Funing County People's Government, the Textile Light Science and Technology Education Foundation, and the Industrial Textile Professional Committee of the China Textile Engineering Society.
Li Lingshen, Vice President of the China National Textile and Apparel Council; Lv Jie, Second level Inspector of the China Finance, Trade, Light Textile and Tobacco Union; Zhu Chao, Director of the Human Resources Department of the China National Textile and Apparel Council and Director of the Vocational Skills Appraisal and Guidance Center for the Textile Industry, and Li Guimei, President of the China Industrial Textile Industry Association, are leaders from national ministries and industry associations; Leaders from relevant departments in Funing County, including Zhang Lihua, Secretary of the Communist Party of China Funing County Committee, and Xu Genlin, County Mayor of Funing County People's Government, as well as leaders of well-known domestic environmental protection new materials leading enterprises, research and development institutions, experts and scholars, attended the meeting.
 The conference held a plaque ceremony for the China Industrial Textile Industry Nonwoven (Funing) Vocational Skills Training Center. Li Guimei, President of the China Industrial Textile Industry Association, presented a plaque to Wang Yu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China Funing County Committee and Executive Deputy County Mayor. To build a new type of industrialization demonstration park with "environmentally friendly new materials+intelligence+digitization+networking," the establishment of the Funing Intelligent Environmental Protection New Materials Demonstration Park was officially launched at this conference.
In addition, the conference also signed contracts for 22 major projects.
On November 16-17, after passing the theoretical knowledge exam and practical competition, the closing ceremony of the national finals of this competition was held on November 18. Zhu Chao, Director of the Human Resources Department of the China National Textile and Apparel Council and Director of the Vocational Skills Appraisal and Guidance Center for the Textile Industry, presided over this session.
 Liu Jingxian, the chief referee of this competition and professor at Northeastern University, was the first to give a review of the competition. He stated that the competition was divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The contestants demonstrated a good competitive state and demonstrated a high level of skill, but also reflected some issues. He suggested that operators should focus on their positions, strengthen their learning of professional knowledge in filter materials, and apply theoretical knowledge to production practice; To strive for excellence and improve operational quality; To cultivate versatile skilled personnel and attach importance to the learning and popularization of advanced operating methods.
